Horin Junmai Daiginjo is Gekkeikan’s flagship ultra‑premium sake.
A luxurious, meticulously crafted expression made from Yamada Nishiki and Gohyakumangoku rice polished to 50%. Fermented slowly at low temperatures for around 30 days to coax out delicate aromatics, Horin offers a refined bouquet of melon, honeysuckle, green apple, and pear, with a smooth, creamy palate and a long, clean finish. Its elegance reflects the classic Fushimi style, shaped by soft spring water and masterful koji work.

Best enjoyed chilled, ideally in a wine or Daiginjo glass. Horin pairs beautifully with lightly seasoned seafood, salads, lobster, glazed pork, and fresh fruit. A graceful, award‑winning sake that showcases the pinnacle of Gekkeikan’s craft.

Gekkeikan is one of Japan’s oldest and most respected sake breweries, founded in 1637 in Fushimi, Kyoto. A region famed for its soft, pure spring water that shapes its elegant brewing style. Over nearly four centuries, Gekkeikan has become a global ambassador for premium sake, blending deep tradition with modern craftsmanship and research‑driven brewing innovation.
Their portfolio ranges from everyday table sake to ultra‑premium expressions like Horin, which highlight meticulous rice selection, precision milling, and long, low‑temperature fermentation.
