A rare seasonal release from one of tequila’s most traditional distilleries, Winter Blend 2025 layers Fortaleza’s signature tahona‑crushed agave with the richness of multiple cask finishes. Aged first in ex‑American whiskey barrels, then shaped by expressive Madeira and Passito di Caluso wine casks, it pours golden and aromatic. Aromas of cooked agave, vanilla, citrus peel, dried fruit, and warm baking spice. Fortaleza is one of tequila’s most beloved traditional houses, rebuilt on the original 1873 Sauza family distillery grounds and run today by Guillermo Erickson Sauza. Everything they make is defiantly old‑school: brick‑oven roasted agave, tahona crushing, open‑air wooden‑vat fermentation, and copper‑pot distillation. A slow, labour‑intensive process that preserves deep agave character and produces small, highly expressive batches.
