Le Bourg is one of Guiberteau’s most concentrated and age‑worthy expressions.
Drawn from a tiny 1.10‑hectare parcel of 70‑year‑old vines in Brézé. The 2023 vintage is dense and textural, layering lemon, almond, apple, and a touch of chilli spice over deep mineral structure. Whole‑cluster pressing, indigenous‑yeast fermentation, and ageing in older barriques give the wine power without heaviness. A serious, cellar‑ready Chenin Blanc with remarkable depth and saline precision. 

Domaine Guiberteau is one of Saumur’s most acclaimed modern estates, a family domaine founded in the early 1900s and revitalised in 1996 when Romain Guiberteau returned to take over the vineyards. Mentored by Nady Foucault of Clos Rougeard, he shifted the estate toward low‑intervention, terroir‑driven winemaking, organic certification (2007), and later biodynamic practice. The domaine farms roughly 14–17 hectares across Brézé, Bizay, Épieds, and Montreuil‑Bellay, centred on the region’s famed tuffeau limestone. A soft, chalky bedrock that gives Guiberteau’s Chenin Blanc its signature mineral precision. Native‑yeast fermentations, whole‑cluster pressing, old‑oak élevage, and long lees ageing define the cellar style, producing some of the Loire’s most sought‑after dry Chenin Blancs.
