The Teuchter Batch #4 is a small-batch, 10-year-old Ben Nevis created by marrying together two refill barrels from the 2016 vintage for just under a year in an old refill butt.
The additional marrying time has allowed the whisky to knit together beautifully, creating a softer, broader and more approachable profile while preserving the classic character for which Ben Nevis is so highly regarded.
Waxy textures, bright fruits and cereal sweetness are joined by a distinctly old-school Highland character, delivering a wonderfully balanced and satisfying dram.
Bottled by Decadent Drinks at 47.0%, this release is limited to only 309 bottles.
Nose: Elegantly leafy, mossy, waxy and mineral, with classic West Highland weight and charm. Notes of wet stones, cooking oils, tree bark, lemon peel and herbal tea.
Palate: Easy-going, waxy and oily, with hints of hessian, lemon oil, camphor and putty. A textbook example of modern, refill-matured Ben Nevis.
Finish: Medium in length, with lingering notes of aniseed, bergamot, pepper and warm bread.
