Cadenhead's Enigma 'Highland Single Malt' 23yo 700mL
A quietly complex Highland mystery malt, distilled in 2000 and bottled at 51.8%. Expect orange peel, meringue and soft pastry on the nose, followed by a waxy, gently spiced palate with floral elderflower and rich malt. The finish is long and warming, with nutmeg, toffee and cereal notes. Elegant, intriguing and unmistakably Highland. A beautiful example of what 23 years in a hogshead can do.
The Enigma Highland 23yo is a long‑aged, anonymous single malt distilled in 2000, matured in a hogshead, and bottled in February 2024 at 51.8% ABV. As with all Enigma releases, the distillery remains unnamed, but the profile is unmistakably Highland: bright citrus and soft sweetness on the nose (orange peel, meringue, dough), a waxy, gently spiced palate with floral elderflower and malty depth, and a finish that leans into nutmeg, toffee, cereal and muesli. It’s mature, characterful whisky presented with Cadenhead’s trademark transparency. Everything except the distillery name.
