Kilchoman’s 13 Year Old is a rare glimpse into the distillery’s maturing stocks, its second-oldest age statement to date.
Peated to 50 ppm and bottled at 50% ABV, it’s matured in a mix of ex-bourbon barrels, octaves, and Calvados apple brandy casks, creating a whisky that balances smoke with orchard fruit elegance.

The nose opens with lemon citrus, vanilla, toffee, and soft pear, wrapped in maritime peat reminiscent of a beach bonfire.
On the palate, lime, stewed pear, and tart apple meet hazelnut praline, brioche, and damp moss, while the finish lingers with malty biscuits, honey, toffee, and smouldering peat smoke. Complex, layered, and refined, this limited release shows Kilchoman’s smoke in a more elegant register, with Calvados casks adding a crisp apple lift.
A dram to savor slowly, it’s both a collector’s piece and a showcase of how Kilchoman’s youthful vibrancy evolves into depth with age.

Kilchoman is Islay’s only independent farm distillery, founded in 2005 by Anthony Wills. It revived traditional grain-to-glass whisky-making on the island, growing and malting its own barley at Rockside Farm, distilling, maturing, and bottling entirely on site. Known for its maritime peat smoke and citrus-driven style, Kilchoman has quickly earned global respect for its youthful vibrancy and terroir-driven authenticity. With core releases like Machir Bay, Sanaig, and Loch Gorm, plus limited editions showcasing cask innovation, Kilchoman has become a modern icon of Islay whisky while staying true to its farm roots.
