Bret Brothers Julienas la Bottiere 2022
Juliénas is one of the northernmost Crus of the Beaujolais. Bottière is a beautiful terroir! This is a throwback to classic Beaujolais from another era. Fermented with 100% whole clusters, carbonic fermentation, and a slow press. The sugars finished in Burgundian barrel. An illuminated, bright wine, with delicate aromas that invite one to taste its nectar. 2018, a huge favorite!
100% Gamay Noir it's perfect next to grilled chicken, red meats, pork ribs
Bret Brothers is a micro-négociant wine brand founded in 2001 by Jean-Philippe and Jean-Guillaume Bret, designed to complement their family estate, La Soufrandière, in the heart of Mâconnais, Burgundy. Known for their meticulous, terroir-driven approach, the brothers source organically farmed grapes from old-vine plots across the region, vinifying each parcel separately with indigenous yeasts and minimal intervention to preserve purity and site expression. Their wines—crafted without new oak and aged with precision—embody a vibrant, mineral-rich style that elevates Mâcon’s reputation beyond its traditional shadow. With a deep commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture, Bret Brothers has become a benchmark for thoughtful, expressive winemaking in southern Burgundy
