Needle’s Eye 2016 is The Wrekin at full stride. A Pinot Noir shaped by organic farming, wild fermentation, and the full mosaic of clones across the estate. Expect lifted aromas of dried strawberry, crimson plum, cedar, and warm spice, carried by long, velvety tannins and a savoury, quietly powerful finish.
Only 3,786 bottles were produced, making this a rare snapshot of an exceptional warm, dry Marlborough vintage.
Elegant, expressive, and beautifully composed, it’s a wine that rewards both contemplation and good company.

The Wrekin is one of Marlborough’s quietly brilliant, detail‑obsessed vineyards. A site‑driven producer that farms with integrity and lets its diverse soils do the talking. Organically farmed since 2012, the estate spans elevated clay‑loam blocks over greywacke rock and lower loess‑rich slopes, giving their wines both tension and generosity. The Wrekin’s philosophy is minimal intervention, wild ferments, and absolute respect for clone diversity, resulting in small‑batch wines that feel handcrafted, expressive, and deeply rooted in place. It’s a brand for people who love Marlborough but want to taste its more contemplative, terroir‑first side.
