Professor Black Blend is Warwick’s retro tribute to Stellenbosch’s golden age of red blends, where Cabernet Sauvignon met Cinsault in the 1970s.
It weaves together Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cinsault, creating a wine that’s both powerful and elegant. Expect aromas of cassis, lavender, cedar, and purple flowers, leading into a palate of blackcurrant, plum, aniseed, coffee bean, and spice, framed by silky tannins and fresh acidity. Aged in French oak for around 12–18 months, it’s lush yet structured, approachable now but rewarding with cellaring. This blend is a vibrant showcase of Simonsberg terroir, perfect with braised short rib, venison burgers, or rich casseroles.
