Dow’s 2018 LBV is a lush, dark‑fruited snapshot of a standout Douro harvest.
All the depth of a young Vintage Port, but bottled ready for pure drinking pleasure. Expect blackberry compote, violets, and a little Dow’s trademark dryness giving shape and lift to the richness. The palate is full, velvety, and structured, with enough grip to keep things serious but enough generosity to win over any crowd. It’s your “open‑anytime” Port: decadent with chocolate desserts, brilliant with blue cheese, and dangerously easy to enjoy on its own.

Dow’s traces its origins to 1798, when Portuguese merchant Bruno da Silva established himself in London and began importing Port, building a reputation strong enough that his shipments received armed protection during the Napoleonic Wars. The firm evolved into Silva & Cosens, later merging in 1877 with the highly regarded Dow & Co., adopting the Dow’s name and cementing its place among the elite Port shippers. Over the 20th century, stewardship passed to the Symington family, who have now guided the house for five generations, farming the iconic Quinta do Bomfim and Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira in the Upper Douro. Dow’s is celebrated for its austere, concentrated, and distinctly drier style, producing Vintage Ports that have earned multiple 100‑point scores and global acclaim.
