Billecart-Salmon’s Brut Rosé is one of Champagne’s most iconic bottles, and its tasting profile is a masterclass in elegance and restraint. In the glass, it shows a delicate pale salmon-pink hue with fine, persistent bubbles. On the nose, you’ll find an inviting bouquet of wild strawberries, raspberries, and redcurrants, lifted by hints of rose petals, citrus zest, and white peach. The palate is silky and precise, balancing fresh red berry fruit with a subtle vinous depth—think cherry, grapefruit, and a whisper of spice—all carried on a creamy mousse that finishes with remarkable finesse. The overall impression is one of harmony: vibrant yet delicate, refreshing yet complex, making it equally at home as an aperitif or alongside dishes like salmon tartare, langoustine carpaccio, or even a simple bowl of fresh summer berries.

Billecart-Salmon is a historic, family-owned Champagne house founded in 1818 in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ through the marriage of Nicolas François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon, and remarkably, it remains under the stewardship of the same family today. Known for its finesse, precision, and elegance—especially its iconic Brut Rosé—the house cultivates around 100 hectares of estate vineyards and partners with growers across 40 crus in Champagne, with a strong emphasis on sustainable viticulture. Innovation has long been part of its DNA: in the 1950s, Billecart-Salmon pioneered cold settling and low-temperature fermentation, techniques that preserve freshness and aromatic purity. Its prestige cuvées, such as Clos Saint-Hilaire and Nicolas François Billecart, have earned global acclaim, with the 1959 vintage famously crowned “Champagne of the Millennium” in 1999. Today, Billecart-Salmon stands as a benchmark for balance and refinement, blending tradition, family continuity, and quiet innovation into some of Champagne’s most admired wines.
